The nearest airports are Bordeaux and Bergerac, each approximately an hour away by car. There is a shuttle bus from Bordeaux airport to the train station in the centre of the city.
For those getting around by train, there are railway stations in Bordeaux (50 km), Libourne (with direct trains from Paris) (25 km), Castillon-La-Bataille (the closest town) (7 km) and the nearest station to St Michel de Montaigne is in the village of Lamothe-Montravel (3km). In the opposite direction, there is Bergerac (45 km) and Sarlat (120 km). Be aware that trains to the local stations are very infrequent, especially at weekends, so do check timetables ahead of time.
There are no buses that serve the immediate local area, though there are bus routes in and around Bordeaux, Libourne, Bergerac, Sarlat and beyond. Bordeaux is the closest bus station served by national coach services from Paris and other major cities.
