Welcome to the ‘Relais de la Renaissance’, an old ‘maison bourgeoise’ in the centre of Saint Michel de Montaigne, a small hamlet in the Dordogne region. This part of the house has been tastefully converted into 4 entirely self-contained duplex apartments, each of which can cater up to 4 people.

There is a cosy living and dining area downstairs, including a small kitchenette equipped with the main essentials, plus a shower room with washbasin and toilet. Then upstairs you will find either 1 or 2 bedrooms, depending on which apartment you choose.

The Apartments

Apartment 1: – 1 double bedroom with a double bed, 1 single bedroom with a single bed, plus the option of a futon mattress on the floor of either room for a 4th person. There is direct access to the outside terrace, garden and pool from the living area.

Apartment 2: – 1 double bedroom with a double bed plus a bed settee in the living area downstairs. There is a fireplace in the living area, along with direct access to the outside, terrace, garden and pool.

Apartment 3: – 1 double bedroom with a double bed, 1 single bedroom with a single bed, plus the option of a futon mattress on the floor of either room for a 4th person. There is access to the outside terrace, garden and pool from the main shared corridor.

Apartment 4: – 1 double bedroom with a double bed plus a bed settee in the living area downstairs, where you will also find a large traditional fireplace. There is access to the outside terrace, garden and pool from the main shared corridor.

Each apartment is equipped with sun loungers to take outside, as well as shared access to the washing machines and sauna in the cellar of the main house.

We tried to create comfortable ‘chill out’ apartments, each with beautiful chestnut parquet flooring upstairs and terracotta tiles (with under floor heating when needed) downstairs. A lot of care and attention has been given to the furnishing and decor of each apartment, which makes each one totally unique. There is a combination of exquisitely hand painted Bavarian wooden furniture, plus wooden statues, textiles and masks from Mali in Africa, alongside eclectic pieces collected from local French flea markets.

Your dogs and cats are welcome here too.

We look forward to welcoming you to the Relais de la Renaissance soon!
